County Judges and Commissioners from across the Lone Star State are invited to Waco for the 104th Annual Conference of the County Judges and Commissioners Association of Texas. Conference classes will take place at the Waco Convention Center, 100 Washington Ave.
The V.G. Young Institute of County Government, a part of the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, will serve as the education co-sponsor of the conference, hosted by the McLennan County Commissioners Court.
The four-day meeting will address timely issues including water and data centers, tax abatements, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence, and the 90th Session of the Texas Legislature.
Social activities will allow for plenty of opportunities to fellowship with your peers including the President’s Welcome and Ice Cream Social on Monday afternoon and McLennan County’s Host Court Night on Tuesday. Wednesday will feature the Luncheon Banquet followed by leisure activities including 42, cornhole and sporting clay tournaments, and the Bobby Smith Memorial Golf Tournament.
Continuing Education, ADVANCED CURRICULUM
Seventeen hours of continuing education credit for County Commissioners have been approved. This includes four hours of credit offered Wednesday afternoon in the Commissioners Court Advanced Curriculum session. The County Judges Education Advisory Committee has approved four hours of judicial education credit for Tuesday afternoon’s judicial education session. County Judges may also obtain up to 17 hours of credit (nonjudicial) toward the Commissioners Court Advanced Curriculum by attending designated sessions. County officials will have the opportunity to obtain credits to complete the advanced curriculum and receive certificates during Wednesday’s luncheon banquet. Conference Registration and Cancellation Policy

The State Association has adopted a new fee structure that includes a substantial discount for counties that are members of the CJCAT. The member rate is reserved for counties that are current on their CJCAT dues.
- CJCAT Member County: $300; after Sept. 4, $350.
- Non-Member County: $550; after Sept. 4, $600.
- Corporate and other attendees: $550; after Sept. 4, $600.
- Additional luncheon tickets (non-spouse): $60 each.
The fees above include tickets to all events and the Spouses Program.
Conference registration forms must be received by Sept. 29. If registering after Sept. 29, please register on-site at the Waco Convention Center. We will process payments and provide name badges and conference materials.
Conference registration cancellations must be in writing (fax acceptable) at least 72 hours before the conference to receive a refund, minus a $10 processing fee
