Reeves County Commissioner Tony Trujillo

August 11, 2025 by Julie Anderson

Antonio M. “Tony” Trujillo, a cherished member of the Pecos community, passed away on August 1, 2025, in Pecos, Texas.

Antonio was born on April 10, 1960, in Pecos to Antonio and Maria Elena Trujillo. He attended school in Pecos and proudly graduated from Pecos High School in 1978. He married his high school sweetheart, Tina, in 1979 in Pecos, and they were married for 46 years. His passion for surveying began in 1985 when he was employed with Frank Spencer and Associates. He went on and earned his Registered Professional Land Surveyor license in 1999. Tony Trujillo Land Surveying Inc. opened in 2002.

Tony was a dedicated public servant and was elected proudly to serve as Reeves County Commissioner of Precinct 4 in 2011. His passion for the progressive development of Reeves County was a constant driving force in his life that remained of the upmost importance even in his final days.

Antonio was a friend and mentor to many and would offer guidance or a helping hand to anyone who needed it.

Antonio is survived by Tina Trujillo, his spouse of 46 years; children Valerie Trujillo, Tony Trujillo and wife Heather, and Jessica Ortega and husband Luis, all of Pecos; brother Martin Trujillo and wife Sandra of Odessa; four sisters, Susie Villescas and husband Freddy of El Paso, Flor Herrera and husband Bobby, and Marta Trujillo of Pecos, and Ana Apolinar and husband Steve of Barstow; his beloved grandchildren, Christian Trujillo and wife Brittany, Kaitlyn Lara, Sienna and Salem Trujillo, and Diego, Mateo, and Alejandro Ortega, who all affectionately called him Popo; and great-grandchildren Elias, Ethan, Adan, Scarlett, and Sade Trujillo. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Maria Elena Trujillo, and his sister, Norma Lewis. – https://www.pecosfuneralhome.com/obituaries/tony-trujillo.
