It was at times crazy, contentious and cock-eyed, featuring battles over the House speaker’s chair, a late-night walkout by House members, a contested roll call vote in the Senate, and a logjam of proposed legislation.
Lawmakers, faced with 6,374 filings, ultimately passed 1,495 bills including the appropriations package, which was approved on the 139th day of the 140-day session. As of press time, the governor still had several days until the veto deadline of June 17.
