Comanche County is the real frontier. We are located about 100 miles west of Fort Worth, off of Interstate 20 on Highway 16 South. On your way to the Hill Country, you will pass through DeLeon, the busiest town with the friendliest people.
There is more frontier history in Comanche County than anywhere in the world. When I was a young boy about 55 years ago, I could walk around the fields in this area and pick up arrowheads on the plowed ground. Then, my mind would drift off into the frontier past of county history and wonder what really took place in Comanche Countys frontier past.

Comanche County has more than 700 miles of the real frontier county roads. We have deer and turkey the best wildlife area in Texas.

The best fishing in Texas is found at Lake Proctor, with the camping area all around Federal Reservoir set between DeLeon and Comanche on Highway 16 South.
