Southern Tire Mart is a group of 40 stores operating in Arkansas, Arizona, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nevada, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas. It has grown in the past two years to the No. 3 commercial tire dealer and No. 6 truck tire retreader in the country.
Texas is home to 17 stores located in Alamo, Amarillo, Austin, Beaumont, Corpus Christi, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, La Porte, Laredo, Longview, Lubbock, San Antonio, Tyler, Texarkana, Waco and Wichita Falls.
Southern Tire Mart is an authorized dealer for Bridgestone, Firestone, Continental, General, Michelin and Yokohama truck tires and is an authorized Bandag retread dealer. There are six stores which have Bandag plants within their facilities, and they supply retreads to the trucking industry around Texas.
Since Bobby Harms and Johnny Johnson joined Southern Tire Mart in September of 2005, they have won many tire contracts, one of which is the Texas Association of School Board Purchasing Cooperative “Buy Board” contract.
Southern Tire Mart is also an approved vendor for the Texas Multiple Award System, TX MAS, which functions as the state of Texas tire contract. In addition to tires, Southern Tire Mart also offers tire service from each of its 16 locations.
Purchasing from an approved contract frees the county from going through the timely bidding process and affords the county a high-quality tire at a low price. Southern Tire Mart has trained tire personnel at each of their locations to advise clients on which tire is best for the job. Everything from passenger to off-the-road tires are provided in various brands, and Southern Tire Mart offers direct billing to counties on a 30-day account.
