TDA Honors Historic Farms, Ranches

In a celebration of agriculture and family heritage, Agriculture Commissioner Todd Staples honored 82 farms and ranches spanning 61 Texas counties at the 39th Annual Family Land Heritage (FLH) ceremony in early November. The ceremony, conducted in the House Chamber at the Texas State Capitol, recognizes Texas families who have kept their farms and ranches in continuous agricultural production for 100 years or more.

To date, the Texas Department of Agriculture has recognized more than 4,800 properties in 237 counties across Texas. Agriculture is one of Texas’ leading economic drivers, contributing some $100 billion to the state’s economy.
