V.G. Young Institute to Host Annual Conference

Feb. 16-18, 2016 – Hilton College Station

Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service’s V.G. Young Institute of County Government (Institute) invites all County Judges and Commissioners to the annual School for County Commissioners Courts, to be conducted Feb. 16-18, 2016, in College Station.  Early registration is $225 for government officials and staff and $275 for corporate/other attendees.  Early registration deadline is Jan. 15, 2016.

This year’s school will feature administrative training for County Judges as well as sessions designed to assist County Commissioners in their efforts. Other key issues facing Commissioners Courts will be addressed at the three-day meeting including community development, emergency management, records management, employment issues, road policy and maintenance, and managing the county budget processes. Numerous Commissioners Court Advanced Curriculum modules will also be available. The conference will offer 16 hours of continuing education, including four hours of judicial training for County Judges.

A draft agenda is provided on the accompanying page, and the registration form is available here.

The Hilton College Station will serve as the official headquarters for this event. As of press time, the host hotel was full. Those on the waiting list at the Hilton will be contacted if cancellations occur on a first come, first serve basis.
