On May 27, Bexar County Commissioner Tommy Calvert Jr. helped serve 700 families at the Ella Austin Community Center. Volunteers gave away hand sanitizer, PPE, cleaning supplies, seven days of food, and in collaboration with Travis Park United Methodist Church, books for young people to read over the summer. Participants were able to social distance by popping their trunk in order for volunteers to load supplies.

Plexiglass Distribution
In order to assist small businesses in reopening safely, Bexar County distributed Plexiglass kits on several occasions in early June to local small businesses located within Bexar County. The kits were available to businesses who pre-registered on the county’s Small Business and Entrepreneurship Department’s webpage.
