Robert M. Frost
April 20, 1939 – July 3, 2020
Robert M. Frost was born on April 20, 1939, to Fannie and Harrison Frost. He grew up in Girard, Kansas, as one of nine children. He joined the U.S. Army in January of 1960 to see the world and ended up stationed at Ft. Hood. He served his country for three years as both a mechanic and a cook (and man he could cook!). With his service complete, he moved home to Kansas. As he told the story, when he left Texas it was 80 degrees. The next morning, he woke up in Kansas, it was -5 degrees, and his car was covered in snow. As soon as his car thawed, he drove back to Texas where he landed a job with the railroad.
RM married Anita Huber in 1966, and they eventually settled in Waco to raise their family. While in Waco, RM worked for the Waco Police Department, and then launched RM Frost Used Cars. After several years in the car business, he started Waco Auto Auction, and then returned to the car business prior to retiring in 2011.
His family fondly remembers many of the fishing trips they took through the years whether to the coast or to the lake, camping in the beds of pick-up trucks, meals cooked over an open flame, extensive backyard barbecues, homemade sausage, and the sharing of the ample annual bounty from his vegetable garden. RM showed his love through food. RM also kept his home open to family and welcomed many family members in for periods of time as needed.
RM is survived by his wife, Anita; son Melvin, wife Jeannie, and their children Mykenzie, Kason, Cade and Morgan; son Robert, wife Becky, and their children Madison, Audrey and Jaron; sister Doris Fowlkes; and many nieces, nephews.
A small memorial service for family is planned. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Chalk Bluff Baptist Church playground fund, 5993 Gholson Road, Waco TX 76705 or to a charity of your choice.
