Texas lawmakers are looking to the recently released 2020 Census Redistricting Data to redraw legislative districts under Public Law 94-171. Census figures are used to realign these districts, taking into account population shifts since the 2010 Census.
The 2020 Texas population was calculated at 29,145,505, up from 25,145,561 in 2010, which is a 16 percent jump. The U.S. population went up 7.4 percent to 331.4 million.
