Monuments of Justice: Blanco County Courthouse

The Blanco County Courthouse was designed by Henry T. Phelps in a Classical Revival style. The stone structure was erected in 1916 and sits on the square in the county seat of Johnson City. The Delta County Courthouse was built in 1940 in a Moderne style as designed by Hoke Smith. Initial county business was conducted in a one-room box house until a two-story, frame county capitol was erected in 1881 on the square.
