Commissioners Court Members:
S.B. 2037 will eliminate the ability of counties to enforce subdivision regulations concerning “minimum lot sizes, lot dimensions, lot frontages, lot setbacks, or other components of lot density” severely reducing current authority and encouraging shoddy development. S.B. 2037 is set on the House floor today; please call your state representative to oppose this overreaching limitation.
Furthermore, H.B. 3697 by Rep. Wilson was amended in the Senate to include the same limiting language. H.B. 3697 will return to the House for approval of this Senate amendment. Please request that your state representative oppose the Senate amendment to H.B. 3697. These are the last days of the session, and things are changing rapidly. Please stay tuned!
