Proceeds from the 2017 Veterans Day Breakfast were presented at the 2018 Texas South Plains Honor Flight Telethon in early July. The Texas South Plains Honor Flight is a chapter of the Honor Flight Network with 131 hubs in 41 states. The organizational goal is to send as many veterans as possible to Washington,
D.C., to pay homage to their fellow brothers and sister in arms by visiting the war and service memorials built in their honor. The Hockley County Veterans Breakfast raised $3,200, enough money to send two Hockley County veterans on the honor flight, to take place Oct. 13-15.
