Jack County Commissioner and longtime DJ Kenny Salazar danced through the pearly gates on Feb. 19, 2025. Kenny was born on Jan. 23, 1968, in Bridgeport, Texas.
Kenny has always been the life of the party. You would know he was there by his infectious laughter or a slap on the back.
A man of many talents and interests, he enjoyed his Harley, music, playing the drums, his dogs, Roxy and Lola, and the Texas Longhorns. But most of all he loved God, his family, and his community.
Much too cool for a traditional grandpa name, Kenny was known as Bam Bam to his grandkids and their friends. He enjoyed spending time taking them fishing, riding the side by side, and riding in his truck with the windows down and the music up.
Kenny was married to the love of his life, Amy, for 34 years. Opposites in every way, she kept him in line as best she could, and he kept her laughing and shaking her head at his antics.
Kenny is survived by his wife, Amy Salazar, and his daughters, Cameron (George) Garza of Perrin, Sadie Bolton of Brownwood, Kaley Salazar (Sanch Ramirez) of Mineral Wells, and Kaitlyn (Ty) Ashley of Perrin. His grandchildren, Brody Bolton, Isaac Ramirez, Braelee Bolton, Isaiah Ramirez, Emersyn Garza, Watson Ashley, Bellamy Garza, and Elias Ramirez, will miss their Bam Bam terribly. He leaves behind his parents, Lucy Robbins of Perrin, and Wally and JoAnn Salazar of Bridgeport, as well as his younger siblings, Debbie Brock of Perrin, Jr Salazar of Perrin, and Denise Salazar of Bridgeport. He will also be missed by numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and his beloved community.
Kenny will be greeted in heaven by his Pops, Tim Robbins, and his grandparents, Vera Nava, Troy and Ann Robbins, and Sonny and Mary Garces.
