As part of our Real County Centennial Countdown, each month County Progress will check in with the Real County Centennial Steering Committee.
This month we join a sneak preview of the Mohair Fashion Show, which will be staged by Dolores Unique Designs of Camp Wood, Texas, at the big Real County birthday bash on April 6. When Dolores Vernor, a native of Matamoras, Mexico, and an accomplished seamstress came to Texas 24 years ago, she discovered and fell in love with Mohair fabric. Since then her reputation as a champion for the Mohair Industry has soared. Feast your eyes on a sampling of the beautiful garments which the ladies of Camp Wood modeled for photographer Charles Carlson.
Models include 2012 Miss Rodeo Texas Rosanna Pace and 2012 Miss Rodeo Austin Princess Hannah Tomlinson, along with Mary Buckner, wife of Real County Commissioner Gene Buckner (photos ? & ?); Wanna Lou Lloyd (photo ?); Sondra Madden (photo ?); and Becky Williams (photo ?).
