For the last year, County Progress has followed the Real County Centennial Countdown. We’ve enjoyed getting to know members of the Centennial Steering Committee as they’ve showcased the county’s rich heritage via special events including reunions, dedications, unveiling of historical markers, prayer breakfast, and fashion show spotlighting the area’s Angora goat mohair industry. Members of the community especially enjoyed the invitation to send photos to the local paper answering, “Where in the world did you wear your Real County Centennial T-shirt?”
County Progress was privileged to attend the official 100th Birthday Bash on April 6 in the county seat of Leakey. We wish Real County all the best as they continue their yearlong celebration.
