AMCAD Unravels the Complexities of Integrated Justice
Addressing the complexity of the criminal justice process
Starting with identifying a suspect and continuing through rehabilitation of an offender, the lifecycle of the justice process includes law enforcement, legal agencies, courts, jails, prisons, probation, and numerous support organizations.
Much has been done, yet much remains to be accomplished
Through information sharing governance, technologies such as Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), and standards including the National Information Exchange Model, significant progress has been made to address the incongruence across the justice process. However, information sharing between criminal justice agencies is still in the early stages of development.
How we can make it better
Due to the sheer number of agencies involved, each bringing process variations, high workload volumes, and differences in data, more complexity has been introduced into sharing information across the justice community. It is our goal to address this complexity at the lowest level, integrate the criminal justice functions for the agencies and departments that process the charges, adjudicate the case, incarcerate the criminal, and rehabilitate the offender – especially given these departments have very tightly coupled business processes. The justice process involves different agencies performing their mandated function that ultimately converges to a single person.
Introducing AMCAD’s Justice Platform
Imagine a justice solution that is person-centric and extends from one end of the criminal justice spectrum to the other while maintaining the integrity of the data and information about each person throughout the system in a seamless manner. The AMCAD Justice Platform is designed to do just that.
Our Justice Platform provides agencies and users with a common integrated and seamless platform, significantly reducing and often eliminating the need for integration. While some integration is still required with law enforcement and state and federal departments, integration at the local level is significantly reduced with our Justice Platform. AMCAD believes in justice information exchange and is a strong proponent and user of the National Information Exchange Model. We also believe in uniformity within the criminal justice system and a fully integrated, scalable, configurable, adaptable, and flexible single vendor solution. Spanning the sequence of the justice process goes a long way toward addressing the complexity inherent to the criminal justice system.
Built on a single codebase, sharing the same libraries, developed by the same team, AMCAD’s Justice Platform is modular and can serve the criminal justice community for large and small jurisdictions. The Justice Platform brings end-user friendly case management functionality while easing a jurisdiction’s Information Technology demands by reducing the number of systems and their maintenance.
The justice community now has the benefit of partnering to implement a single solution from a single vendor with a common look and feel that significantly reduces complexity and overhead. One company, one phone call for all your justice solution needs.
NET DATA
Receiving better information faster gives you the opportunity to increase both current and delinquent collections. i-Ticket is the first important program of its kind that allows DPS citations in Texas to be filed automatically. Lag time between issuing and paying citations is decreased using the auto-filing system giving your defendants an opportunity to pay citations within 24 hours. i-Ticket also improves the validity of your data by eliminating citation printouts that are hard to read and typos that create process errors and bad PID attachments. i-Ticket will import DPS codes into your systems, and your collection records will be built and ready for payment.
In June of 2010, NET Data became the first company to offer a direct link to the Texas Department of Public Safety for the downloading of DPS citations, including License and Weight! Since then NET Data has signed up 83 Justice Courts and filed over 230,000 citations. This represents an estimated savings of more than $30,000 in employee time, and frees up your clerks to work more efficiently. i-Ticket will improve data integrity in your court cases making it easier for you to collect and dispose your cases. Contact NET Data to see how we can bring i-Ticket to you for little or no cost to your county. Receiving better information faster gives you the opportunity to increase both current and delinquent collections.
