Monuments of Justice: Colorado County Courthouse

County Seat: Columbus * County Population: 20,874 (2010 Census)

  The 1891 Colorado County Courthouse was designed by noted Texas architect Eugene Heiner in a Renaissance Revival style and is a National Register Property. In 1909, a hurricane destroyed the original tower and severely damaged the structure. The 1972 Taylor County Courthouse pictured on the cover was designed by Tittle, Luther, Loving, Lee, architects. Monuments of Justice: Shelby County Courthouse

    The Historic Shelby County Courthouse is the only Irish castle-style courthouse remaining in the United States. Designed by Irishman John Joseph Emmett Gibson, the county capitol was completed in 1885 and is a National Register Property. Monuments of Justice: Stephens County Courthouse

County Seat: Breckenridge * County Population: 9,630 (2010 Census)

The Stephens County Courthouse was built in 1926 in a Classical Revival style as designed by David S. Castle. The four-story temple of justice features limestone construction, monumental primary entry stairs rising to triple-arched entry doors, and 10 columns.
