Why Stop In Burnet County???

Bordered by the largest chain of lakes in Texas, the Highland Lakes, and nestled in the Hill Country, it’s no wonder Burnet County is fast becoming one of the most popular tourist destinations in the state. Just northwest of Austin and an hour’s drive from Austin or San Antonio, lakes in the county include Buchanan, Inks, Marble Falls, and upper Travis. Inks Lake features a 1,201-acre state park and is home to Longhorn Cavern. Inks is also home to a federally recognized fish hatchery.
Lake Buchanan hosts the Vanishing Texas River Cruise and some of the best striper bass fishing around. Lake Marble Falls is home to one of the fastest lake drag boat races in the world, and also a holiday Walkway of Lights that thousands of spectators come to see each year.
