Adan Munoz, a former Kleberg County sheriff with experience in both the governor’s and attorney general’s office, has been named executive director of the Texas Commission on Jail Standards.
Munoz replaces Terry Julian, who retired Aug. 31.
“The combination of my professional diversified law enforcement career alongside my business experience has allowed me to gain great insight into dealing with the responsibility of administering the future of this agency,” Munoz said. “I have great respect for county governments, having been a county sheriff and dealing with county commissioners courts.”
Munoz was born and raised on the King Ranch in Kleberg County’s Kingsville. He was educated in the Kingsville school system and attended Texas A&M
